System Definition U45
The U45 size defines the engineered interface between tooth and adapter in the upper heavy-duty range of the ESCO® Ultralok® system.
Typical application range:
Crawler excavators and large wheel loaders in the approx. 35–50 tonne class with cutting edge and lip thicknesses of 50 mm or 60 mm.
Note:
Machine class is a reference only and not an identification criterion. The decisive factor is the stamped system size “U45” on the component.
The locking mechanism is integrated into the tooth. Separate hammer-retained pins are not required.
Cutting Edge and Lip Thickness within the U45 System
In heavy-duty applications, bucket lips are structurally reinforced.
U45 adapters are typically designed for:
50 mm cutting edge
60 mm cutting edge
Cutting edge thickness is a primary selection criterion in addition to the system size.
