Teeth, Tooth Adapters and Retainers suitable for Lehnhoff® Tooth Systems
For components suitable for Lehnhoff® tooth systems, the tooth, tooth adapter and retainer must be technically matched. The reference number of the installed component, the interface geometry and the retainer type are decisive.

Technical identification of the tooth, tooth adapter and retainer
The sleeve tooth, tooth adapter and retainer form one complete tooth system. The tooth is the replaceable wear part. The weld-on tooth adapter forms the tooth interface on the bucket. The retainer holds the tooth in its intended position.
References 400F, 404F and 411F identify F-type sleeve teeth used on excavator buckets or loader buckets according to the installed bucket design. The 301B is designed as an excavator sleeve tooth. The tooth reference alone is not sufficient for correct selection. The tooth adapter, retainer type, dimensions and interface geometry must also match.
Tooth, adapter and retainer combinations
- 301B: tooth adapter 001, retaining plate 1011 or screw-type retainer 1012 according to the installed version
- 404F: tooth adapter 004, screw-type retainer 1005
- 400F: tooth adapter 011, screw-type retainer 1012
- 411F: tooth adapter 011, screw-type retainer 1012
Retaining plate 1011 may also be used with confirmed versions of tooth references 400F and 411F. The installed retainer geometry is decisive. A retaining plate and a screw-type retainer are different designs and must not be interchanged without technical verification.
Selecting by reference and interface geometry
Selection must not be based solely on machine weight. The reference number of the installed tooth, the tooth adapter, the retainer type and the dimensions are decisive. Tooth references 400F and 411F both use tooth adapter 011, for example, but their tooth geometries differ and they are not interchangeable.
If the reference number is no longer clearly legible, the design and dimensions of the installed tooth and adapter must be checked. Relevant dimensions include the overall length, base width, base height and tooth interface geometry. Dimensions must not be transferred from a similar tooth reference.
Inspect the tooth interface and retainer before installation
When replacing a tooth, inspect the existing tooth interface for wear, deformation and damage. Installation requires the interface, tooth and retainer to be technically compatible and functional. A worn or damaged interface may prevent the tooth from being positioned and retained correctly.
When replacing a tooth adapter, also compare the reference number, dimensions, interface geometry and intended welding area. Welding work must be carried out professionally in accordance with the component design and the applicable operating requirements.

Cutting tools such as LIS® teeth and tooth adapters are covered by a lifetime breakage guarantee from LIS®. Coverage is limited to material and manufacturing defects and does not include normal wear caused by operating conditions.
