Double Grouser Master Shoes for Master Links and Track End Links

Double Grouser Master Shoes are specialized track shoes designed for specific positions within a crawler track chain assembly. They are installed in the area of master links, track end links or split track joints and must match the chain pitch, mounting dimensions, bolt pattern and track chain configuration.

What Are Double Grouser Master Shoes?

Double Grouser Master Shoes are track shoes featuring a two-grouser profile designed for specific end positions within a crawler track chain. Unlike standard track shoes, they are intended for use on master links, track end links or split track joints.

The double grouser profile provides a balanced combination of traction, stability and controlled maneuverability. In addition, the master shoe must be compatible with the design of the corresponding track end link.

Difference Between Double Grouser Track Shoes and Double Grouser Master Shoes

Standard Double Grouser Track Shoes are mounted on regular track chain links. Double Grouser Master Shoes are specifically designed for designated end positions within the track chain assembly.

As a result, a standard track shoe cannot automatically be used as a master shoe. Chain pitch, mounting dimensions, bolt pattern, fastening points and master link design must all be considered.

Master Links, Track End Links and Split Track Joints

Many crawler undercarriages use master links or split track joints that differ structurally from the remaining track chain links. These design differences may require dedicated master shoe configurations.

Double Grouser Master Shoes are designed specifically for these locations within the track chain. Compatibility should always be verified using technical drawings and the existing track chain specifications.

Verify Chain Pitch, Mounting Dimensions and Bolt Pattern

Track shoe width alone is not sufficient for proper identification. Chain pitch, mounting dimensions, bolt pattern, plate thickness and master link geometry must match the existing track chain assembly.

Even visually similar master shoes can differ significantly in technical specifications. Variations may include hole spacing, fastening locations, chain pitch, plate thickness and track chain design.

When Should Double Grouser Master Shoes Be Replaced?

Double Grouser Master Shoes should be inspected when the grousers become heavily worn, mounting holes are elongated, fastening areas are damaged or the shoe becomes bent, cracked or loose.

Timely replacement helps prevent additional wear to track chains, bolts, nuts and other undercarriage components.
