System Differentiation: The J225 Size
The J225 size is not a universal standard system, but a specialized intermediate solution. It is used exactly when the smaller J200 system reaches its stability limits, but the installation space or the existing bucket geometry does not allow an upgrade to the more massive J250 system. Tooth tips, adapters, and locking parts are only compatible within the J225 size.

Technical Identification: Is it really J225?
Use these reference values for exact identification on the old part:
- 1. Typical J225 Part Numbers (Cast Numbers):
Common reference numbers for J225 tooth points end in "...222" (e.g., the standard tooth 6Y-3222). - 2. Adapter Nose Dimension (Inch Rule):
As a rough technical guide, the thickness of the adapter nose for the J225 size is approx. 2.25 inches (approx. 57 mm). - 3. Dimensions of J225 Locking Elements:
The J225 locking pin (e.g., reference number 6Y-3228) has a diameter of Ø approx. 14.0 mm and an exact length of approx. 67.0 mm.
Workshop Hint: Fatal Risk of Confusion with J250
In practice, J225 components are frequently mistaken for J250 parts. Attention: The systems are not interchangeable! Although the locking pins of both systems have a diameter of Ø 14 mm, the J225 pin (67 mm) is significantly shorter than the J250 pin (80 mm).
The tooth fit and adapter geometry also differ massively due to the system design. Therefore, it is mandatory to check the pin length or the cast number.
Tooth Shapes and Adapters for Backhoe Loaders
The J225 tooth system offers the right penetration power for classic earthmoving. LIS® primarily carries the following profiles:
