Teeth and Retainers Suitable for CAT® K-Series K80–K110
For the CAT® K-Series tooth system, system size, tooth profile, reference number, existing adapter interface and retainer must be checked together. Excavator teeth are available for K80, K90, K100 and K110, with loader teeth available for K90 and K100.

System Design and Retention Principles
The CAT® K-Series tooth system uses a twist-on design with a vertically positioned retainer. The tooth is twisted onto the existing adapter interface and held by the retainer assigned to the system size. K80, K90 and K100 use Drive-through retention. K110 uses Hammerless retention.
The K80, K90, K100 or K110 size designation must match the existing tooth and adapter interface. Machines may be equipped with different buckets and tooth systems. The machine model alone is therefore not a reliable basis for identification.
The existing adapter interface remains essential for correct product selection. Separate CAT® K-Series adapters are not included in the range shown in this category.

Distinguishing Tooth Profiles
The profile designation describes the geometry of the tooth. It does not replace checking the system size, adapter interface and reference number.
- Spike: long sharp tooth tip
- Double Spike: V-shaped tooth tip or double-point profile
- General Duty: long tooth tip
- Heavy Penetration: sharp HD tooth tip
Spike, Double Spike, General Duty and Heavy Penetration are separate profile assignments. Similar external tooth shapes are not sufficient to treat different profiles as technically equivalent.
Correct Retainer Assignment
Retainer 220-9090 is assigned to K80, K90 and K100. K110 uses retainer 286-2110. Because the system and retention assignments differ, the two versions must not be treated as interchangeable.
When replacing a tooth, inspect the existing retainer and the retention area of the adapter interface for wear, deformation and damage.
Check Before Ordering
- Reference number on the existing tooth or retainer
- K80, K90, K100 or K110 system size
- Product type such as excavator tooth, loader tooth or retainer
- Spike, Double Spike, General Duty or Heavy Penetration profile
- Geometry and condition of the existing adapter interface
- Assigned retainer and retention system
- Dimensions where no reference number can be clearly identified
A clearly identified reference number is the primary basis for product assignment. Where no reference is available, the tooth shape, dimensions, adapter interface and retainer must be compared with the existing tooth system. Machine and bucket details can support this check but do not replace component identification.
Lifetime Breakage Warranty for LIS® Teeth
The lifetime breakage warranty applies to the LIS® teeth shown in this category in accordance with the LIS® warranty terms. It covers material and workmanship defects. Normal wear caused by the respective operating conditions is excluded.
