Unlike individual air filter elements, the FPG series represents a complete system consisting of housing, airflow routing, pre-cleaning and filtration.

Two-Stage Filtration and Pre-Cleaning Principle

The Donaldson FPG series operates as a two-stage air filtration system. The intake air is introduced tangentially into the housing, creating a rotational airflow pattern.

This airflow generates centrifugal force, which separates a large portion of the dust particles from the air stream before they reach the filter element. The heavier particles are directed toward the housing wall.

The separated dust is automatically discharged via an integrated Vacuator™ valve, allowing continuous system relief without manual intervention.

The remaining particles are captured by the filter element. This combination of pre-cleaning and main filtration supports consistent filtration performance under medium to high dust conditions.

RadialSeal Sealing and Housing Design

The FPG series uses RadialSeal sealing technology to ensure a defined connection between the filter element and the housing. The element is radially mounted and sealed through compression.

This design reduces installation-related leakage risks and supports stable sealing performance under vibration and changing operating conditions.

The housings are manufactured from non-metallic materials and are designed for applications where corrosion resistance, reduced weight and vibration resistance are required.
