System Differentiation: The J350 Size
The J350 size is designed for significantly higher breakout forces than the smaller J300 standard. It features more massive wall thicknesses and a significantly stronger locking pin.
Tooth tips, adapters, and locking parts are only compatible within the J350 size.

Technical Identification: Is it really J350?
Since the J350 profile is also installed on many third-party buckets in the 30-ton class, the size must be determined exactly. Use these reference values for identification on the old part:
- 1. Typical J350 Part Numbers (Cast Numbers):
Common reference numbers for J350 tooth points end in "...352" (e.g., the standard tooth 1U-3352 or the rock tooth 1U-3352RC). - 2. Adapter Nose Dimension (Inch Rule):
As a rough technical guide, the thickness of the adapter nose for the J350 size is approx. 3.5 inches (approx. 89 mm). - 3. Dimensions of J350 Locking Elements:
The J350 locking pin (e.g., reference number 8E-6358) has a diameter of Ø approx. 19.0 mm and a length of approx. 105.0 mm. It is significantly thicker than the 14 mm pins of the smaller series.
Workshop Hint: Change teeth in time, protect adapters
Extreme leverage forces are at work in the 30-ton class. A bucket tooth must be changed before the wear reaches the bucket adapter. If the tooth cap is worn through, the rock rubs directly against the adapter. A damaged adapter leads to massive play, causing the entire breakout force to strike the locking pin unbuffered. The consequence: Immediate pin breakage and tooth loss in the field.
Tooth Shapes and Adapters for Excavators and Wheel Loaders
The J350 tooth system offers the right penetration power for every soil. The choice of tooth shape depends on the soil type and abrasion:
- Standard / Long (e.g., 1U-3352): The universal choice for mixed earthmoving and heavy trenching applications.
- Penetration / Tiger: For extremely hard, compacted soils where penetration power is the priority.
- Rock (RC) / Heavy Duty: Reinforced versions for applications with high wear (rock, quarrying).
To optimally equip buckets, LIS® carries various adapter designs in the J350 segment:
- Two-Strap Adapters (Center & Corner Adapters): The standard on excavator buckets. They enclose the cutting edge and offer maximum stability during breakout.
- Flush-Mount Adapters (Single-Strap): Welded flat for wheel loader buckets (smooth bucket underside).
- Bolt-On Adapters: Variants bolted directly to the cutting edge, frequently used on heavy wheel loaders for quick assembly.
