Bolt-On Cutting Edges Suitable for CAT®
Reference number, component type and mounting geometry are decisive when selecting bolt-on cutting edges suitable for CAT®. The current LIS® range includes bolt-on cutting edges, corner components, segments, end bits and grader blades for wheel loaders, track loaders, dozers and motor graders.
- Component types: bolt-on cutting edges, corner components, end bits, segments and grader blades
- Machine types: wheel loaders, track loaders, dozers and motor graders
- Selection: reference number, dimensions, complete bolt pattern, installation position and fasteners

Identifying cutting edges suitable for CAT®
The cutting edge actually fitted to the attachment is the starting point for identification. The machine model and series help narrow down the options, but they do not confirm a specific version. Reference number, component type, installation position and complete bolt pattern must match.
Use the reference number as the starting point
The reference number on the component is usually the quickest way to identify the part. It should be confirmed directly on the installed component, in the technical documentation or against reliable replacement-part data. Components with similar descriptions may differ in function, geometry or installation position.
Cutting edges for wheel loaders and track loaders
Depending on the design, wheel loader and track loader buckets may use full-length bolt-on cutting edges, outer corner components or multi-piece cutting-edge systems. Length, cross-section, bolt pattern and mounting method vary between systems.
Distinguishing corner components, end bits and segments
Corner components are fitted at the outer sections of bucket or blade cutting edges. Depending on the system, the term end bit refers to an outer finishing or wear component. Segments are individual components within a multi-piece cutting or wear system. Position and similar appearance alone are not sufficient to classify these component types as equivalent.
A component fitted in the center is not automatically a center cutting edge. Depending on the cutting-edge system, it may be a segment with its own reference, type and position assignment.
Cutting edges for dozers
Depending on the blade design, dozers use straight cutting edges, multi-piece cutting-edge systems and outer corner components or end bits. Left-hand and right-hand versions must be treated separately. Reference number, installation position, bolt pattern and mounting geometry must match.
Grader blades and other motor grader cutting edges
Depending on the confirmed design, motor grader cutting-edge systems may use straight or curved grader blades as well as position-specific end bits and overlay components. Reference number, blade profile, installation position and bolt pattern are decisive for identification. The confirmed component classification is stated for each individual product.
Further universal and system-independent versions are available under Grader Blades and Cutting Edges.
Determine the installation position
Where stated for the product, LH, RH and CTR identify the installation position within the cutting-edge system. The position must not be inferred from a product image or from a visually similar reference.
Check dimensions, bolt pattern and fasteners
Length, width, thickness, the complete bolt pattern and the specified plow bolt size must be checked. The bolt pattern includes the number and position of the holes as well as the hole spacing and end distances. The required bolt length depends on the total grip length of the bolted joint.
Older or modified attachments
On older machines, repaired buckets or modified blades, the installed cutting edge may differ from the original configuration. In these cases, the component actually fitted or a reliable technical drawing is the relevant basis for identification.
Technical specifications apply to the individual product
Material, hardness, heat treatment, dimensions and other technical specifications apply only to the individual product. Values from a supplier range or a similarly designed cutting edge must not be transferred to an LIS® product.
Other cutting edges and fasteners
Universal bolt-on cutting edges with 6-inch hole spacing are available under 6 Inch Bolt-On Cutting Edges. Cutting edges suitable for other manufacturers are listed under Komatsu Cutting Edges, Volvo Cutting Edges and Liebherr Cutting Edges.
Matching plow bolts and nuts are available under Bolts and Nuts. Further cutting edges and wear profiles are listed in the parent category Edges and Blades.
Lifetime breakage guarantee for LIS® cutting tools
Lifetime breakage guarantee: Products in this category that are expressly identified as LIS® cutting tools are covered by the lifetime breakage guarantee. Coverage is limited to material and manufacturing defects. Normal wear caused by operating conditions is excluded. Bolts, nuts, fasteners, genuine OEM products and other accessories without confirmed classification as an LIS® cutting tool are not covered by this LIS® breakage guarantee. Further information is available in the LIS® warranty conditions.
